How does the procedure go?
Before surgery
The doctor will perform an examination, assess the problem and recommend the optimal course of action for the woman. He may also combine vaginoplasty, for example, with surgery on the vaginal perineum. In most cases, the operation is performed under general anaesthesia, so you will need to undergo a pre-operative examination. The date of surgery should be scheduled after the end of menstruation.
The course of the operation
During the surgery, the doctor will either perform only the vaginal opening or a full-length vaginal reconstruction. During the operation, the surgeon removes excess tissue and sews the edges of the wound with absorbable sutures. The entire procedure takes approximately one hour. The treated area is covered with a sterile drape.
After the operation
If the procedure was performed under general anaesthesia, a 1-day hospital stay is required, in case of local anaesthesia the client goes to home care. At least one week of rest is required. The stitches are absorbable, so there is no need to remove them. After a week, light office work is possible, full workload is recommended only after complete healing. Careful intimate hygiene should be maintained for at least one week.
Important information
The result of vaginoplasty surgery is obvious immediately after the operation. Evaluation of improvement in sex life is highly individual, usually can be evaluated in about 3-6 months. If a woman has become pregnant and given birth again after vaginoplasty, or if vaginal loosening has recurred over the course of age, the surgery can be repeated. For a better effect, it is wrong to combine it with perineal surgery, labioplasty or rejuvenation of the external genitalia or vagina.
