Bichectomy
Removal of cheek fat sacs (Bichectomy)
When losing weight, most of us focus primarily on problem areas such as the tummy or buttocks, yet it is the face that first reflects our body weight. As the pounds pile on, it slowly rounds out and can look even puffy. However, let’s not always look for overweight behind this condition. Fatty deposits cause a plumper appearance and removing them helps to aesthetically shape the face and accentuate the jawline.
If overly filled cheeks bother you, a bichectomy, or cheek fat pad removal, can help.
If you purchase the procedure, the consultation is free of charge.

What is bichectomy
Bichectomy is a great solution to regain your lost self-confidence. By removing the buccal fat, you will quickly and gently narrow your cheeks, accentuate your cheekbones, and achieve a slimmer appearance. At ABClinic, bunionectomy is performed by highly skilled plastic and facial surgeons who respect facial proportions and harmony. The procedure is conducted in such a way that the symmetry of the face is maintained and the result is as natural as possible.
What you get from the procedure
- Gentle and permanent slimming of chubby cheeks
- Subtle cheekbone enhancement while maintaining facial harmony
- Youthful facial appearance
- Increased self-confidence
How does it work?
Before surgery
A personal consultation is required before any aesthetic surgery. The plastic surgeon will evaluate whether bichectomy is the right solution for you.
he procedure is performed under local anaesthesia, so you will only have to undergo a basic pre-operative blood test.
It is advisable to include some food supplements in the menu about one week before the actual procedure, which can speed up healing.
After the operation
The site of the procedure may be swollen and slightly red for the next few days, but both will soon subside and will not interfere with your normal activities. As the procedure is performed inside the mouth, increased oral hygiene is essential. For a few days after surgery, you should follow a special drinking and eating regime and avoid increased physical activity. The final results of the surgery are usually visible within 2 months.
The course of the operation
Bichectomy is a procedure performed under local anaesthesia and takes about 30 minutes. The surgeon removes part or all of the fatty sac in the cheek area intraorally (from inside the mouth) after making small incisions in the lining of the mouth. He then sews the wound together with absorbable stitches. Although the procedure is usually performed on both cheeks, in the case of asymmetry it can be performed on only one of them.
Important information
The aging process is unfortunately inevitable and will of course have a lasting effect on the long-term stability of the bichectomy result. Our specialists will recommend regular treatments and therapies designed to slow down the facial aging process.
