How does the procedure go?
Before surgery
The doctor will evaluate the condition of the nipple and suggest a surgical procedure. The procedure can be performed as an outpatient under local anesthesia or under anesthesia, which requires a 1-day hospitalization. Other surgical procedures can be scheduled together with the procedure, as the procedure is short and does not put any strain on the body.
The course of the operation
During plastic surgery of the inverted nipple, the shortened ligament bands that cause the nipple to pull inwards are released. Two types of procedures can be performed. In the first case, it is a technically simpler procedure in which the milk duct is severed; in the second case, the milk duct is kept intact, but the effect of the surgery may not be as pronounced. During the operation, depending on the surgical procedure, the doctor releases the ligaments, lifts the nipples and fixes them. The operation takes approximately half an hour.
After the operation
Immediately after surgery, the nipple may be sensitive. It is possible to return to normal activities almost immediately, but the nipple should be protected from impact during the healing period. The surgical fixation is removed by the doctor approximately 2 weeks after surgery. Increased physical activity is recommended after about 2 weeks. It is recommended to start pressure massage two weeks after surgery to promote scar healing.
Important information
The effect of nipple nipple surgery is permanent. In case a woman is troubled by other problems, such as loose sagging breasts, the procedure can be combined with breast modelling, breast enlargement or reduction.
